Can the model be changed in RTX Mod? (I want to play it with the SA1 model with those Ultra graphics)

As someone who played DX for over 10 years before finally trying the Dreamcast version, DX isn’t THAT bad.

Not just ray tracing. RTX remix is a tool that can replace entire models with higher quality ones ray tracing is fairly easily to setup with rtx remix. its just more long and tedious as you have to set every light source to be a rtx light source which as you can tell is very time consuming. i tried doing this myself and only did emerald coast and station square and stopped because quite frankly yes its easy but its also time consuming. crazy to see someone really took the time to do this as its a lot.

Thumbs up if you still play retro games because you hate modern games I still do because we're basically just remaking everything right now.

Are you telling me you can add stuff like this to Kingdom Hearts with enough elbow grease??

Sadly as of right now, SA2 doesn't support Remix. But hopefully soon enough it will eventually be compatible and we can get a really good RTX Remaster!

sonic adventure isn’t overhated. i’ve seen more praise than hate for it and if anything I think it’s overrated

I grew up with DX and frankly I really loved it, outside of the Chao system which I truly felt was a massive downgrade coming from Adventure 2. Outside of that, it's the Sonic game I come back to the most. The mod looks incredible!

Now we only need a good homing attack and voila.

My biggest complaint with this mod is Sonic's spin aura. I would have increased the emissive values of the blue aura while Spin Dashing and Jump Dashing. I do like how, in some darker levels like Lost World, using Sonic's fully-charged Light Dash aura can be used to light up the darkness! I want to see more of this type of lighting introduced and leaned into.

I can't be the only one who didn't have any issues playing the DX port as a kid. Are newer players just trying to make game look bad or something?

When will y'all realize that slapping RayTracing onto a game from the 90's doesn't magically make it look better, in fact it looks worse than playing the original game on original hardware. This is why developers remake games from scratch.🤦‍♀🤦‍♀🤦‍♀

The Amy levels are some of the best in the Sonic Adventure. Especially with the extended moveset mods on the Steam version. Balancing the game with a slower paced platformer that requires you to keep your motion in order to propel yourself high in the air is super fun imo.

I find weird that I've played Mario 64 with HD studd and all that while still being low poly and I've preferred the DX version of Adventure more than the original on the Dreamcast. It may be because of bias, but I always thought the Dreamcast games looked rather ugly, so a new coat of paint without being forced to have an RTX-capable card would've been real nice. If there was a version of the Dreamcast Conversion mod that touched no visuals and another one that properly revamps the textures, maybe even the cutscenes, instead of using RTX only, then that'd he peak. Same for SA2 honestly as well.

Before I played Sonic Adventure, I was one of those fans that just assumed that only the Classic Sonic games were the good games, and I was only gonna play those games and not the 3D ones. However, when I played Sonic Adventure this year, I surprisedly had a fun time with the game, so much that I enjoyed it. Yeah it had its bugs (cause I was playing DX version) but overall I thought it was a good Sonic Game just because how fun it was.

People have already tried to apply RTX Remix to Sonic Adventure 2 but for whatever reason vertex shaders in that game do not get captured properly, once Nvidia fixes this issue we'll likely see an RTX mod for it.

Hey I know this vid is a month old, but I did a similar thing to you with my brand new riffmaster and crashed the driver on the dongle using RB4IM. If you use the program Zadig to reinstall the winusb driver on the dongle you can try and fix it. Thats how I got mine working again. Takes a bit of fiddling though.
